Find Your Wild
“We need the tonic of wildness. We can never have enough of nature.” Henry David Thoreau. I came across this quote several decades ago, and the idea of wildness being a tonic has since become fully ingrained in the core of my being. It is my medicine, my comfort, my muse, and my playground. It's the first place I go to when things aren't right in my life. It's also where I find inspiration and a shift in mood.
The life force energy emanating from the earth serves as a tuning fork, harmonizing and balancing our energies. We are intrinsically connected to Mother Earth. She guides us in awakening, adapting, and flowing with change when we are open to her. The sun always rises, spring inevitably follows winter, and storms invariably pass. Gaia's spirit casts her magic, revealing our integral place within the whole.
In a world overwhelmed by technology and facing a mental health crisis, is it still possible to find your wild? The spirit of nature is pure and beautiful, mirroring our own essence. We are nature and we are wild.
